Something nobody talks about... the down is just loose in the channels so you will get cold spots all over the place. I really don't want to worry about down distribution while in a tent at -30 degrees and it's not something that you can easily see or even fix (especially if used with polar bedding). Brand new pad, reply from Exped was: "Is it possible that the down has gotten wet and is clumping as a result?"
