Product description

The Adamello GTX walking boot is part of Meindl's Comfort Fit range. Wider in the forefoot giving more room for the toes, it has a firm, shaped hold at the heel for a secure fit. The boot features a GORE-TEX membrane, which means the boot is guaranteed waterproof. This wider fitting hill walking boot is designed for those seeking the performance and specification of Meindl's best-selling Bhutan and Borneo boots but with a wider fit. It also has a high-specification Comfort Fit cork footbed, which gives great stability but can be removed to accomodate a customised orthotic.

The sole units are stiffer than an A/B grade boot and they provide more stability and underfoot support. Suitable for demanding walks in the Lake District, North Wales and Scotland, as well as lower level paths in the Alps or Pyrenees during the summer.
  • Nubuck leather uppers
  • GORE-TEX lining
  • Comfort Fit cork footbed
  • Meindl Multigrip 3 Vibram sole with OU shock absorber
  • Waterproof protection

The comfort fit range from Meindl is perfect for wide feet. However, I was surprised that this model is not the second red midsole under the large comfort fit sole which provides even more cushioning and which is also removable like the Sulden model which is lined in leather. fit like the Sulden model which gives more cushioning.

Comfortable straight out of the box. Having very wide feet, I normally buy half a size larger to get sufficient width, but the slightly wider toe box of the Adamello means this same larger size allows for a thicker walking sock. Sole is not too stiff and gives great grip and traction. The footbed is quite built up making length of shoe appear shorter but makes for a comfortable stride and you walk that bit taller in these. Enjoyed rubbing in that first wax coat before venturing outside!
