Great bag! Solid build, and truly versatile. Capable of being squeezed down small when empty and has plenty of attachment points to "over load" if needed. The option to reach into the laptop compartment and the main compartment by a side zipper truly makes a difference in practicality. I looked for a pack that could "do it all", from EDC to travel to simple hiking, and it seems to be up to it. It is a bit heavy for the volume, but this is what you get for durability I guess. Carrying both laptop and tablet is a bit tight on the pockets there.

- The front pockets are obviously very practical to be well organized at all times. On the other hand, if you don't have a full bag (for example to go shopping), the weight of their contents will make the bag tend to collapse on itself;
- The volume is good, provided you actually use the front pockets: otherwise it's just as much space lost for the main compartment;
- The opening system, interesting, better than a normal bag but still less practical than the tri-zip of the same brand. .
In conclusion, I would say that it's an ideal bag for those who like to be (very) well organized at all times, with all the other qualities of Mystery Ranch (solidity, comfort, adjustable back).| Overall rating |
