— Show originalI upgraded from a 1030 to this. I wondered for a long time whether it was worth it or should I upgrade directly to a 1050. Luckily I ended up with this one, the screen is great and the upgrade from the previous one is significant. I don't need anything else. The battery lasts well for several days of driving (I don't drive for hours at a time) and the screen is easy to see even in the sun.

— Show originalI initially had a Garmin Edge 540 Solar. I didn't like its user experience and somehow the screen felt small. With 1040, both problems were fixed. In addition, this was the first time that the installation of the Garmin device went well the first time, so the device has left a good feeling. It could be that I could get by with the 840, but when there was a price difference between the two when ordering only 70e more, I decided to upgrade the 540 directly to the 1040 instead of the 840. I feel it was worthy of a bigger screen. I don't feel that battery life is of great importance to me.
