I specifically wanted 12x50 binoculars and was surprised by the price/quality ratio of the product. Really good affordable binoculars, but 10x50 or 10x42 would be better suited for birdwatching. These 12 x magnifiers magnify so much that it is harder to find the target. In addition, the hand must be very steady. Of course, there are also 10 x magnifiers of this model, which are better suited for general birdwatching.
