Hot waxing is a method of greasing chains that is constantly growing in popularity. Solid wax does not collect dirt and keeps the entire transmission of the bike clean, repels dirt very well. Black Diamond Hot Wax chain wax combines the truly lubricating Black Diamond additive technology and Rex's more than 70 years of experience with paraffins. Switching to hot waxing makes cleaning the bike much easier, and saves chains and sprockets from wear. The hot-waxed chain does not tangle or stain, and it can be cleaned with just hot water.

To guarantee high quality, Rex put all the Black Diamond additives into one black piece. The additive piece is like a bottle of Black Diamond chain oil in solid form. Eleven white Rex paraffin blocks are a carefully selected wax mixture, and combined with an additive block, they guarantee excellent lubrication. By melting all the pieces (11+1) together, you get a wax mixture that works perfectly in all conditions.

By melting a piece of additive with four pieces of light wax (4+1), you get an extremely durable mixture for even the longest runs and races. The remaining 7 pieces of wax can be used as a cleaning pre-treatment wax, so that the 4+1 mixture stays clean and maintains its performance longer. Two-stage wax treatment in one package!

Instructions for chain lubrication
1. Before the first use, clean the chain thoroughly with a solvent cleaner such as Rex Chain Cleaner. A good cleaning improves the adhesion of the wax and improves the duration of the lubrication. If the chain has previously been treated with hot wax, simply rinsing with hot water and wiping is sufficient.
2. Melt all the wax blocks with low heat (max. 100°C) e.g. in a pot, together with the chain to be treated. Allow the chain to warm up and mix it with the wax so that the wax penetrates the chain perfectly. You can process several threads at the same time.
3. Raise the chain to cool. The treatment has been successful if the chain is stiff. Bend the links of the chain and install in place. The chain still sags after a few kilometers of driving.
4. Re-wax the chain when it is loud. To keep the wax clean longer, first rinse the chain with hot water, wipe and let it dry well. After this, repeat the waxing treatment.
