A really good lamp. Does what it's supposed to. The previous HM65R model had a better headband with a ratchet cord/"boa" attachment and reflectors, but there are those who think the ratchet cord was worse. However, this HM75R has better power and, as a novelty, a red light with no fewer than three power settings. Burn times can be found as luminous flux-time graphs on the Fenix website, and a buyer who is buying their first efficient LED headlamp should take a look at them. The light head is quite small compared to the peak power, and the lamp starts to limit the luminous flux quickly, after just 15-30 minutes. For example, an 800 lm spotlight actually spends its 4 h burn time at around 400 lumens, even though the requirements of the ANSI FL1 standard are exceeded, and the same is true for many other LED headlamps. Not all manufacturers are as open about these actual output powers. If you want more than 1000 lm of light output for hours, e.g. for hard downhill cycling, you should rather buy a large and well-cooled light head with an external battery and study the light output-burning time graphs carefully. The HM75R is, on the other hand, an overkill lamp when you need a sturdy wide beam that can last for an 8-hour work shift, with a wide beam and soft edges (doesn't cause as bad a tube vision as a sharply cut beam in pitch darkness). The 4000K color temperature of the wide beam is more pleasant to look at for long periods of time and reproduces colors more naturally than the 6500K of the spotlight, which I think should also be 4000K. Unlike many other headlamps, the red light can be adjusted to be quite bright if necessary (120 lm).

There is enough light here, even for fellow runners. The lights are very powerful, but the lowest power is not quite enough in an urban environment (although this is just a matter of the environment). The battery life has also been suitable. It lasts several hours in temperatures closer to -20. At maximum power, the device warms up somewhat, so you can warm your fingers at the end of an outdoor activity if necessary.

Very light and easy to use. The narrowest beam could be even more precise/narrow. Good price/quality ratio.

Pros: light output, red light, use of the rotary control with gloves on, has held up well even in -30 degree weather.
Cons: logic of the rotary control when selecting different powers, hard clip on the back of the head (maybe you can remove it, but I haven't figured out how yet), in very cold weather your fingers get frozen if you make the mistake of grabbing the metal part of the lamp without gloves (my previous lamp was plastic, so I'm not used to handling this yet)

Really high-quality and functional light. The battery drains quite quickly in the cold, though, so I had to order an extra battery with a cord so I could put the battery inside my jacket if needed. Then the light itself doesn't need a battery, just power from the extra battery. The wide light should be able to shine higher, the spot light should shine higher. When using the wide light with a headband, you have to raise the light more towards the crown of your head.

Incredibly good headlamp with many light patterns to vary with. Fits well on the head and easy to turn on and off. Good battery life and easy to charge, I'm finally completely satisfied with a headlamp!

Very functional crank. Not too heavy with the extra battery. I gave up on the ledlenser xeo19 model because of the weight

Powerful and high-quality headlamp. I bought the headlamp for autumn and spring day trips. I also bought an extra battery for longer hikes and ski trips. The lamp feels a little heavy, especially with the extra battery, but the battery will definitely last a long time. For long summer hikes, there could be a slightly lighter option when there is less use.

I already have experience with the previous version. This new one is better in many ways, the only downside is the change from quick-release to a more traditional solution.
