I had a pair of leather walking shoes of Meindl, which after many years of frequent use were still in perfect shape, but as now I am using them daily during my two month photography tour through the Algarve, Portugal, they turned out to be too small as my feet started swelling a bit. Walking shoes should be bought at least one size, sometimes 1,5 size larger than your normal shoe size, which I did not consider for my old Meindls. So I bought a new pair of larger identical Meindls, which do now fit perfectly, and at the same time I ordered this sport wax of Meindl to keep the leather solid en flexible. For my old shoes, I used another wax, which was far from perfect as there were stains, and the wax got fluid by warmer temperatures. This Meindl sport wax, however, is excellent for leather: it is far more solid in structure, you need to use less of it, it impregnates the leather easily and without stains. You need not much wax to keep the shoes flexible when you maintain them regularly, unless your shoes have been entirely wet: then a complete rewaxing is necessary. Excellent product. The size of the package is rather small, which is not bad so in case of little use it will not dry out, so you better order two pots so you always have one in stock…
