The price is reasonable considering the overall quality of the compass.

— Show originalPrevious reviews had highlighted the weak hinge of the mirror. The device requires gentle handling, as is the case with a compass. A protective bag for the compass is necessary for hiking.
The Suunto instructions promised a bearing accuracy of 2 degrees. I find it a bit exaggerated, the correct accuracy maybe closer to 4: ice.
Adjusting the deviation directly to the compass so you don’t have to calculate it is a great feature.
I got many good tips for using the device from the user guide. What was new to me was determining the position by pointing at fixed points and using the mirror for signaling.
In the past, I had imagined that a virtual compass on a cell phone would suffice, but running out of cell phone battery in the woods changed my mind.| Overall rating |
