Excellent compass for orienteering and trekking trips.
This is a very high quality compass, nothing wrong with it. The materials used, the finishes, the different settings / functions and its use are unparalleled. I used to use another well-known brand; I regret not having chosen SUUNTO earlier ...
The price is reasonable considering the overall quality of the compass.
I took the Global model in case I need to travel.
Very precise, I can only recommend it.

Previous reviews had highlighted the weak hinge of the mirror. The device requires gentle handling, as is the case with a compass. A protective bag for the compass is necessary for hiking.
The Suunto instructions promised a bearing accuracy of 2 degrees. I find it a bit exaggerated, the correct accuracy maybe closer to 4: ice.
Adjusting the deviation directly to the compass so you don’t have to calculate it is a great feature.
I got many good tips for using the device from the user guide. What was new to me was determining the position by pointing at fixed points and using the mirror for signaling.
In the past, I had imagined that a virtual compass on a cell phone would suffice, but running out of cell phone battery in the woods changed my mind.
