A darkened eye and face shield designed to fit Petzl Alveo and Petzl Vertex work helmets perfectly, provides excellent protection against mechanical hazards, protects the eyes from sun glare (level 2.5 light transmission) and eliminates interference from reflections to work efficiency. Suitable for e.g. for working at high places, construction work, grinding, metal industry, arborists, etc. Very effective anti-scratch protection and anti-fog, high-quality and long-lasting class 1 optics, suitable for pleasant long-term continuous use. The curved design gives a wide, uniform field of vision.
Easy to install in the mounting holes already found on the helmet. Includes mounting screws. Two positions: raised over the helmet in the transport position and lowered in front of the eyes in the working position. Use in the working position is possible simultaneously with the Petzl Pixa or Ultra Vario series industrial light attached to the helmet or with the light attached to the helmet's headlamp brackets. The Pixa or Ultra Vario light can be easily detached from the helmet's front mount when the visor needs to be lifted up (the Pixa can be removed completely, the Ultra stays on the end of the cord or is held up with the help of the top strap so that the Vizir can be raised).
Compatibility:
Government Decree (205/2009) on the safety of construction work, Chapter 13 § 71: "A safety helmet must be worn on a construction site. If necessary, the helmet must be equipped with a hood. During construction work, personal eye protection required by the work and working conditions must be used. The employer must provide workers with protective glasses for those jobs where there is a significant risk of eye injury." . We recommend Aclima Balaklava helmet hoods for use with helmets.
More information about the markings of the standards:
The CE EN166 standard provides recommended levels for eye (and face) protection in work use. Petzl Vizir Shadow EN 166 class 1 type B, meeting the requirements of the standard, belongs to the best 1 optical class, i.e. it is designed for continuous use even during holding. Type B means that the shield protects the eyes and face from the impact of a high-velocity medium-energy object (6mm / 0.86g steel ball) at a speed of 120 m/s. The CE EN 172 standard provides recommended levels for eye protection from sun glare in industrial use.
Petzl Vizir Shadow meets the requirements of EN 172 class 5-2.5, i.e. it is suitable for industrial work where protection from sun glare is required: 5 is the filter type and means that the lens offers protection from the bright sun when used outdoors and it does not contain an infrared filter. 2.5 means the degree of darkness, in this case that the light transmittance is more than 17.8% but less than 29.1%.
In addition, Vizir Shadow meets the requirements of the ANSI standard, so it is also suitable for international users.
