Kun infrapunasensori havaitsee eläimen, tieto menee langattomasti metsästäjän vyöllä tai taskunsuulla roikkuvaan vastaanottimeen. Hälytys tapahtuu äänimerkillä, mutta vastaanottimeen voi kytkeä myös korvanapin jolloin hälytysäänen kuulee vain metsästäjä.
