Goes straight to the cage bar. The small downside comes from the cup rattling. That is, the fasteners should have small padding so that there is no metal against the metal. Another small disadvantage comes from the fact that the pictures did not show how small the opening in the splash guard is. We will always take the splash guard off if we are at a standstill and the dog is in the car for a longer period of time. For example, in a training field or forest.
