Nah, easy to use and doesn't irritate. After a couple of weeks, my knuckles are still bloody. It didn't quite live up to expectations, although it hasn't worsened the quality of life. Edit: 2 more stars, it works just fine when you put it often and a lot, and compared to that there is quite a lot of stuff in the jar.
