Best compact binoculars available. They still have the inevitable limitations of compacts - more fussy eye placement, less weight to dampen shakey hands, limited low-light abilities - but they maximize what you can get from this format with bright, sharp optics and a decent field of view. Would be better if Zeiss supplied them with lens caps, but there are after-market options available.

Fantastic binoculars. Compared with Conquest HD and Victory SF (both 10x42) and found myself enjoying the view through these pockets. A bit dark during dawn/dusk. Excellent quality. Seems very well made. Quick shipment and delivery from Varuste as well. Highly recommended.

Excellent product optically. The rubber is sticky so possibly starting to unvulcanise (melt) but I hope not & at least there is a good warranty if it covers that? I'm not very keen on the offset hinge but I guess I will get used to it. Even with my fairly large hands it's a fingertip reach to the focus knob with my right hand. I don't use it folded and normally store it in the Zeiss pouch it came with in the almost open position, which is my setting. I have a smaller 8x20 binocular for a truly pocketable bin and I also have small monoculars. This 8x25 Victory is a sort of full size proper view in a smallish, light weight form for daytime viewing but it's not really a pocket binocular though would fit a larger pocket. At first the eye positioning seemed a little strange but now no problem at all and I do not wear glasses. I can actually use it with the eyecups up or down depending on the light etc. Glare resistance seems excellent. I am happy with the smooth and quite accurate focus not requiring much hunting and normally use the diopter centered but it is awkward to set off center a little so not a great implementation of that aspect. I think I got a good example thankfully. I have returned many a binocular that did not work correctly in the past but this one is pretty excellent so I am grateful to whomever the tech person was who assembled this binocular. Great job. When the optics are very good & the binocular works well and impresses then I can only be very happy. If only all binoculars worked as well but they are a tricky thing to get right and if there is any niggle then it's going to annoy constantly. Luckily these are pretty much totally niggle free which leaves only a favorable impression which is what I wanted so well worth the cost in my case.

Very bright and clear view for binoculars so small, with good relief for eyeglasses wearer; good ergonomics and “feel”; quality of construction seems great: after 2weeks of steady use, I’m very happy with these binoculars. Also, Varuste service very fast and polite. Great all around purchase experience.

My first binoculars. For nature observation. Perfect view. Comfortable with eye glasses.

very good optics, but the eyecup is a little bit short when fully extended, causing blackouts when pressed against the eyes.

Good pocket binos. But more detail can still be seen with stabilized bins. Hope Zeiss will release a stabilized version in future.

These bins are the best I have ever used. They are lightweight but provide an incredible amount of light for the size and will be perfect for me to take on backpacking trips. I really like the single hinge design and find it easy to adjust with my left hand. Very little to no chromatic aberration around the edges. I have a few small gripes but none have to do with the viewing: the provided lanyard can’t be put on without undoing the strap that connects the attachment thread to the body of the lanyard. I also wish the provided case was lighter weight and smaller to match with the point of buying small binos. Lastly, it would be great for Zeiss to design small protective caps for the lenses when not in use. However, none of those affect the functionality of the bins and certainly wouldn’t deter me from buying them. Therefore, I still rate these 5/5.
