Top pants also as main pants, e.g. -20c and colder for skiing and running. One star is dripping with a ridiculous trouser button, which also had to be moved. So, compared to the length, the waist measurement is far too tight. I'm quite thin and still pinched at the waist, on the other hand, a size bigger would have been too big elsewhere. Another thing that is missing is even thin knee pads, but on the other hand, shorts are shorts.

I've been using this as an inner layer and it's great

Enjoyed my experience with these trousers - they're definitely warm! Perfect addition as a mid-layer for winter hikes for lower temperatures, keeps legs plenty toast and allows for some play in terms of regulation with long zippers. Wouldn't necessarily wear them as outer layer, except at camp, as they lack pockets and didn't seem to me abrasion resistant in any way. The belt area is nicely designed so having underlays, these pants and some Vidda on top wasn't an issue. Didn't experience any pressure or rubbing, definitely can appreciate rather simple "flexible" button closing. As with any other Carinthia product (that I have), storage is thought-through by means of internal pack pocket and a nice long storage bag included. I would advise to keep note of size, though. Whilst not an issue of pants themselves (hence won't detract from the score), but Carinthia tends to be loose with sizes across different products. I'm usually in between S and M, leaning towards S with most brands, but with these, if not for somewhat stretchy belt area - I'd need to go for M, which I'd imagine would be too generous at the bottom end. Had no issues with buttocks area and was even able to put them over baselayes AND Vidda combo. Just be mindful and if in doubt - decide based on whether you will use it as a true midlayer with minimal clothes underneath. Yes? Go for your size. No? Go size up.

Good pants, but I changed them to Carinthia Mig 4.0, because these were meant to be worn under shell pants, but in my opinion they were a bit too bulky and when there were no pockets in the pants and it seemed that they didn't hold water terribly, so for my purpose, Mig fits better.

Quality felt very good, but the waist is super slim and had to sen them back because they restricted movement significantly. I tried size M and Im around 84kg and have a 32-33 waiste. Consider one size larger than normal
