The HIG 4.0 jacket was developed, considering IR Camouflage. By optimizing the cut, reducing the outer seams and using special materials the IR signatures are reduced to a minimum. The water-repellent outer material and the 3-way adjustable, stowable in the collar hood makes this multifunctional jacket independent from weather conditions.

I think this is top level. Even better than my ufpro jacket. I am 184 cm, 77 kg and size L is just about good, might be a little big. Some underwear or puff jacket is recommended under the HIG, in order not to feel it big but this is not a huge problem.

This is a first impression review. Got the jacket in as a replacement for my Arc’teryx LEAF jacket, the HIG definitely has a better fit, finish, and build quality. The ventilation is good, the pockets are actually useful and the front main pockets are insulated and may be used under a plate carrier to keep hands warm. I don’t tend to like Goretex, but the waterproofing seems to be quite breathable. The internal insulation is thick and very effective. My only drawbacks are even with the collar and hood being adjustable it’s definitely bulky for some scenarios. I’d like to see it be removable via a recessed waterproof means inside the collar. And it’s definitely a bit difficult to wear under a Harnessed plate carrier, but it’s not the fault of the jacket and the carrier just needs adjusted a minor amount. Overall I think it’s a perfect heavy weather tactical jacket. And it will get plenty of use this coming winter.
