There is no doubt how good is the multi-band GPS chip. I've contacted Garmin about the WAAS/EGNOS feature advertised in the user manual, they replied: "After doing some digging we have found that the 66sr does not utilize WAAS/EGNOS. This is due to the multi-band technology. We will put in a suggestion that they add a note in the manual. We apologize for any inconvenience this has cause." I also own the Garmin GPSMAP 64sc for years and I found very few improvements in the last years. The 66sr screen is better, the buttons are better, but the embedded software is still rather slow, the UI/UX has not improved. Also, there is a "feature" that is a "bug" for me: the low temperature locker. The 66sr turns off below -20degC even if the Lithium battery can technically work under -20degC. When I was skiing at -26degC, my 66sr was "dead" but my old 64sc with its NiMH battery was working well.
