The shoes exude quality through and through, now a few less than 10 km drive-in walks on gravel/forest/asphalt behind. Not a drop of water has come through in the tests. The shoes are pre-shaped from the heel, which explains why they felt so comfortable when they were fitted. The shoes are sturdy and comfortable to use, the sole gives a little when stepping. After running in, hopefully the sides of the shoe will give in a little more. The shoes don't squeeze in the width direction, but you might need a little softness/space there. As far as I know, my foot is not particularly wide. The footwear promises good both for forest runs and more difficult terrain. The main use will be hiking on dog runs in the winter of Southern Finland :)

The shoe is well made and very nicely aesthetically built up, but it is narrow for me. It looks like it was built for 70 - 80 kg light athlete men, not for 90 - 100 kg. Even if it eventually becomes wider with wear, the Vibram sole will still remain the same. At present, it is more than 1 cm narrower than the Vibram sole on my current hiking shoes. I am afraid that this sole will not provide me with as much stability as the shoes I do have now. And the key reason I bought Alfa was your description of the sole provided online= i.e. that it is the Vibram sole specially made for a wetter Norwegian hills and rocks environment, which is similar to places where I hike. I will see...
