Absolutely insanely good. I see the dog constantly and even I can guess in which direction the hare is running and where it has already run and thus settle in the passport already run even on molten land. I haven’t been able to find the range yet but it’s definitely enough for the beagle if you don’t go after the deer.

It has worked well with my Finnish vertical ear. An improvement over the previous astro 220 model is at least faster compass operation and longer range. I recommend the product.

The Garmin Astro is a slightly more advanced version of the original Garmin. The compass is better and the dog can be found a little further afield (5-6km). Still, we are still a long way from the promised 14 kilometers. Just enough crank for a hound.

By the way, these are pretty neat devices for mushroom pickers and berry pickers as well. A guy who is not used to moving in the forest can be harnessed with the help of GPS and as the organizer of the trip you know where everyone is.
