It's quite slow to load the map. Similarly, planning routes on a Mac is clunky and slow. A better map to Finland would cost more. The user interface is also very old-fashioned and clunky. But yes, this goes for the purpose I bought it for, i.e. you can locate yourself if you get lost on the map.

Functional basic GPS, requires learning and functions are enough as in all Garmin devices, but it also enables e.g. the downloading and editing of comprehensive cycling maps.
Batteries are good if you're really stuck in the woods/at sea somewhere and want to be sure that the device works, although it's worth investing in lithium batteries if you're moving in winter, they withstand the cold better.

I got a great price and delivery from Varuste.net for this item. It's my 4th handheld GPS from Garmin.

The eTrex 32x has been used extensively in hiking and laundry. Something in the software of my device is wrong, because I can only search from 4 European countries (which did not belong to Finland). The searches on the map of the Finnish National Land Survey do not work. Battery life good.

High-quality and functional GPS device. I bought it for cycling and camping, and I've only used it for cycling. That's why this is a really great cover. Especially if you have already downloaded your route to the memory card. Because in my opinion, moving the map is messy due to the slow loading map. When transferring your own tracks to a memory card, the file name must have "Trace_" in front of it. That is, for example, "Jälki_pyokeralenkki.gpx". Otherwise, it will not be found on the device.
I'm removing one star because the scrolling of the map is messy, although still functional. And the fact that when you turn on the device, GPS recording starts immediately. When cycling, you must always remember to reset the track data at the beginning, so that there are no wasted times, etc. I am used to the fact that the performance is turned on manually. And FYI for fitness guys! If you upload your performance to Garmin Connect, you will not receive any information about this product in the Connect record section. This has been experienced the hard way and confirmed by Garmin's customer service that this device processes data in different ways, like Garmin's fitness products.
I bought this with the Land Surveying Institute map package. And here you can see by default the borders of the properties, which I still haven't been able to take out of sight. These real estate boundaries give a confusing overall look on the map. I have used Garmin's own map base and it is quite valid and clear. Some random small paths are missing compared to the Land Survey's map.
In addition, even if the batteries run out in the middle of the recording and you can easily replace the new batteries, the recording will continue from where it left off. Fortunately, no data is lost even if the batteries run out in the middle of everything.

I have had a few times testailla device. Really good what I have tried so far. You can store in it, for example, a place you have fallen in love with, for example, hiking or cycling and want to come again, but you are not sure if you remember how to return. You just save the location to the GPS device so you can find the location again. Convenient! It's really easy to use. At the beginning of the operation knob hesitant when I myself have always liked you browse directly to the screen. But I'm really surprised that I liked. Has not disturbed any, on the contrary. I can really recommend this device even though I still be able to use all of it mut so far what I've used have been really good. GPS also shows your exact location. +++++

I bought the device mainly for geocaching and secondarily for hiking. I've been using the device for geocaching now a couple of months, and I am very satisfied. Especially in this winter time, I appreciate the hard "joystick" controller, and the device can handle even thick gloves in the hand relatively easily. A light and confident gadget, as I wanted. Geocache data can be easily transferred from a computer to a device via USB.

Very good and reliable device based on short experience. The downside is that the device has so many (too many) different functions that it takes time to learn them. I don't even need them for the use I get the device for. With this device alone you can't move in the terrain, but with the map very well. This will be able to locate and verify a point on the map if you are unsure of where ever it is. The device had an old Terrain Map of Finland, which is missing the latest information and I haven't updated it yet, so I don't know if updating is easy and simple.

Excellent and very accurate GPS for off-road use. One star leaves the device in slow motion. Downloading and routing maps takes time.
Battery life with nickel batteries is good. In my own terrain, one pair of batteries lasts for about two days. Also a plus for the possibility of using ordinary batteries.
I recommend it if you need a reliable GPS device for off-road use. Personally, I also use this when cycling. ETrex devices are not suitable for car use.
Garmin's own map is surprisingly useful. The Terrain Map that came with the memory card was at least incorrectly installed on the card I received, but I would have updated it anyway.

Operation requires learning, between jumping through menus and downloading materials seems to take a long time, but well rotates maps! The buttons and joystick I think definitely have a better interface than the touch screen, meaning you can really wear even wet gloves in your hand!

The device itself is really convenient and reliable. Very pleased. However, in the age of touch screens, you have to do a little work on the joystick and buttons.
BUT that MML Terrain Map option is one of the strangest things of the 21st century. I haven't really seen an "update" system for this since 1998. I don't even dare to download the entire update from that shelf page. So you have to go on the old Finnish map.
