A climbing brush allows the climber to clean the holds of accumulated chalk and dirt. The hold brush is an essential safety accessory for outdoor climbers, as all sorts of friction-reducing material accumulates and grows on the rock. For outdoor climbing, we recommend boar bristle brushes, which clean effectively and gently without polishing the rock. And outdoor climbers, always remember to brush the chalk marks off the rock after your session and to collect litter from the woods - preferably your own and others' - to keep landowners and other outdoor enthusiasts happy and the 'climbing permits' valid.
