Descrizione del prodotto

Backpacker Magazine, the leading US outdoor publication, named
the Bivanorak “Best Bivy” in the August, 2003, test of multi-functional products.

An innovative, multi-purpose piece of equipment that is indispensable for nearly every outdoor activity.

Originally developed as a survival tool for Swedish air force pilots, our patented Bivanorak is a bivy bag/sleeping bag cover, rain garment, portable windbreak, and emergency shelter, all in one – and all in a 650 g/1 lb 7 oz package. The Bivanorak is made from a lightweight, tough, polyurethane-coated waterproof breathable fabric and has fully taped seams.

As a Bivy bag/Sleeping Bag Cover…
The Bivanorak is cut long and wide to provide room for both a sleeping bag and pad in bivy bag mode. Its lower hem and cuffs have draw cords (those in the cuffs are elastic) which can be secured shut to keep warmth in and rain and snow out, and its long front zipper makes entry and exit easy. The large hood will easily accommodate the hood of a sleeping bag, yet it can be cinched tightly around your face. Combine a Hilleberg Bivanorak and Tarp to create a highly effective – and incredibly lightweight – shelter system.

As a Rain Garment…
The Bivanorak is worn anorak style and can be adjusted to a variety of lengths. Simply pull the bottom hem up inside the body of the Bivanorak and tighten the draw cord around your waist. There is even enough room to carry a backpack underneath! Pair it with rain pants or chaps and you have superb wet weather protection. Its single size and easy adjustability allow both the tallest and smallest person to use the Bivanorak.

As a Windbreak/Shelter…
Simply pull it out of your pack and climb in. The wind and waterproof material, adjustable cuffs and hem, and generous hood make for a roomy, comfortable temporary refuge! It’s a versatile alternative to our Windsack as safety equipment for one person.Hilberg has been granted the patent on the innovative Bivanorak!

Those using it as a bivy bag get greater functionality,
since the Bivanorak’s full length sleeves and sealable
cuffs provide total arm use with no loss of weather protection.

Those looking to go super light can go even further by using the Bivanorak as a sleeping bag cover in conjunction with a tarp – such as a Tarp 10, shown below – for their shelter system. As a sleeping bag cover, the Bivanorak improves the comfort temperature range of a sleeping bag by up to 4 ° C /7 ° F (Data determined by Thelma AS, an independent testing lab in Trondheim Norway, in accordance with European Requirements for Sleeping Bag standard EN 13537).

The detachable stuff sack not only affords convenient storage of the Bivanorak, but also makes an excellent pocket.

You can lighten your pack by “replacing” three or four things with the Bivanorak. Use the Bivanorak as your rainwear, as well as a pack cover, since the Bivanorak can be worn over even a good-sized backpack. You can aslo tailor the Bivanorak’s coverage to the conditions. On the left, the Bivanorak is worn long, for maximum coverage; on the right, its bottom hem has been tucked into the wearer’s pack belt, creating a short “anorak.” This usage is especially suited to use with true soft shell systems, since these are built around having (but not usually wearing) full rain protection.

The Bivanorak has a long zipper behind a velcro closure. Draw strings at bottom hem and at the cuffs.Taped seams and stuff bag/pocket on the inside.

Marja 66 v.
