Really high quality and durable poles. The large/wide grip keeps the pole on the snow.

I sometimes ski in fairly deep snow, where a good-sized boot is the most important feature, and I miss the extreme lightness. On the other hand, the pole must be strong enough for difficult ascents or descents in the forest. Peltonen's poles meet these criteria, a good basic pole for forest skiers.
